JEE Main 2023 is a computer-based online test conducted by the National Testing Agency every year for candidates aspiring to pursue undergraduate courses in the leading engineering institute of India. JEE Main 2023 comprises two papers, i.e., Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 will be conducted for the candidates aspiring to pursue undergraduate engineering programs (B.E/B.Tech.) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments, whereas Paper 2 will be conducted for admission to B. To appear in JEE Main 2023 exams, the age limit of the candidates is not announced by the authorities. The candidates who have passed the class 12/equivalent examination in 2021 and 2022 or appearing in 2023, irrespective of their age, can appear in JEE (Main) – 2023 examination.
Candidates need to clear 10+ 2 exams from any recognised Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; etc.
Candidates need to qualify for senior secondary examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with 5 best subjects including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Students who have studied less than 5 subjects in their qualifying exam are not eligible for JEE Main 2023 exams.
For B.E./ B.Tech, the candidates should clear the senior secondary examination with subjects including Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational Subject, and any other subject.
For B.Arch / B. Planning, the candidates should clear the senior secondary examination with subjects including Language, Physics, Mathematics (mandatory), Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational Subject, and any other subject.
Candidates who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or have not cleared the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination from any recognised Central/State Board of India should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination.
